PSAA is pleased to announce the appointment of Marta Phillips OBE CA as a member of its Board and a Non-Executive Director of the company. Ms Phillips is a chartered accountant and has worked in a variety of senior roles in the civil service including as Chief Executive of the Pensions Advisory Service. She also has significant non-executive experience including Board and/or Audit Committee roles in higher education, housing, criminal justice and the fire service.
Prior to her appointment to the Board, Ms Phillips served as an independent member of PSAA’s Audit Committee. Alan Edwards has been appointed to succeed her in that role. Alan is a member of CIPFA and a well known figure in the sectors served by PSAA. As well as working as a Director of CIPFA, he has worked for large local authorities and as a consultant to a wide range of public bodies. His non-exec experience spans health, police, fire and higher education.
PSAA Chair, Steve Freer, said: “We are delighted to welcome Marta to the PSAA Board. Her knowledge and skills will be incredibly valuable as we prepare for a further major procurement of audit services next year and continue to work with other stakeholders to tackle the significant challenges currently facing local audit. Marta will be a worthy successor to Clive Grace, one of our founding Board members, who has stepped down after a second three year term having played a key role in PSAA’s work and development to date. We are also extremely pleased to be able to call on Alan’s experience and expertise to support the vitally important work of PSAA’s own Audit Committee.”
