PSAA has published the findings of its fourth annual survey of audited bodies’ views on their audits.
The effectiveness of relationship management is one of the measures that we use to monitor the quality of audit services provided, and the survey provides us with feedback on how auditors have managed their relationships with audited bodies.
The results reflect the current local audit situation, particularly the significant impact that the extensive backlog of local audits has on all parties.
Tony Crawley (PSAA Chief Executive) said: ‘Our finance directors and audit committee chairs have continued to express their concerns about the current state of local audit. It is imperative that all parties do all they can to help clear the audit opinion backlog, however difficult that will be in the short and medium term, and to stop it reappearing.’
